9th Annual Lexington Farmers Market Tomato Festival is Today

The festival will begin at 2 p.m.

Come enjoy and celebrate fresh tomatoes, tomato dishes and participate in other activities at Lexington's 9th Annual Tomato Festival this afternoon. 

Free samples beginning at 2 p.m. and will be available only while they last. Market Sponsors, town selectmen, officials, farmers and vendors will be sampling homegrown tomato products, a release on the celebration states. 

During the celebration there will be tastings of Spicy Virgin Mary’s heirloom tomato, tomato tarts, kids’ activities, raffles, and more.
Other Market activities include:

2:15 to 3:15 p.m. —Elephant Trunk Bookstore Storytime. 

3:15 to 3:45 p.m. —Local children’s author Jane Sutton will be readingThe Trouble With Cauliflower (picture book and app), Don’t Call Me Sidney and her brand new book, Esther’s Hanukkah Disaster
3:45 to 4:15 p.m. —Local children’s author Jennifer Goldfinger will be reading from her collection, which includes My Dog Lyle, The King’s Chorus, A Fish named Spot, I Need Glasses, The Mystery of the Ancient Coins4:30 to 6:30 p.m. —Folk Guitarist Shawn Kineen
