Adams Street Is Not Closing Tomorrow, Oct. 9

Paving's postponed due to rain. Thursday closure is possible, pending weather.

Lexington's Engineering Division last week announced that, weather permitting, a portion of Adams Street will be closed for paving on Tuesday, Oct 9.

Well, the weather probably won't be permitting, and that paving work has been pushed to a future date.

In an email to Patch on Monday, John Livesy, the town engineer, said paving work planned for Tuesday has been cancelled and, due to the chance of rain in the forecast, Wednesday looked iffy as well.

The Engineering Division is targeting Thursday, Oct. 11, but will continue watching the weather. As of early Monday evening, Thursday's forecast predicted a mostly sunny day with a high near 60.

Livesy said residents can check the 2012 DPW Construction Projects website for updates on this and other paving projects. You can stay tuned to Patch for updates, as well.

Whenever the Adams Street paving project does happen, this map shows the portion of the roadway that will be closed, and engineering advises that drivers should seek an alternate route if possible.
