Sustainability: Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts (HGRM)

Want to make room in your life for sustainability?  Donate goods after a garage sale?  Volunteer?  Help others?  Join us to hear Ira and Barbara Smith, founders of Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts.  HGRM helps battered women, veterans, refugees, and people in transition from homeless shelters and halfway houses.  In doing so, they work with over 300 social service agencies and serve 4000 families, while keeping about 600 tons of re-usable household goods out of the landfill each year.   Come hear their inspiring story and discover how HGRM can provide a critical link in making your own life more sustainable.   Read more about the Smiths and HGRM in Bruce Frankel’s book What Should I Do with the Rest of my Life? available in bookstores and Minuteman Library Network.
