Lexington Among Top 20 in Safest Towns List
The Safewise.com list, released last week, highlighted its commitment to the environment and focus on healthy activities.
Lexington was ranked No. 14 on a recent list of the 50 safest communities in Massachusetts.

Sudbury earned the top spot on the list. Newton was ranked No. 38.
"Excellent schools, a vibrant downtown center, and a strong tech and bio-pharmaceuticals industry make it a popular place to call home," said the report.
Safewise.com reported the following statistics for Lexington:
- Violent crimes per 1,000 residents: .41
- Property crimes per 1,000 residents: 7.06
