The following is from the Lexington Education Foundation:

Lexington Education Foundation (LEF), a non-profit organization working to bring “Better Schools, Brighter Futures” to the Lexington Public Schools, is holding its annual Celebration for Education on Saturday, May 3rd. The event will be at the DoubleTree Bedford Glen Hotel in Bedford, MA from 7:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M.

This year’s theme is “Welcome to Lex Vegas”, bringing the excitement of Vegas to Lexington, for a night where everyone will leave as winners -- especially the children in the Lexington Public Schools.  The organizers are especially excited about this year’s casino-themed evening.

Organizer Christine Chisolm explains: “Everyone will receive free chips they can use to play (or learn) different casino games. At the end of the evening, guests can cash in their winnings for raffle tickets for the exciting grand prize item-soon to be announced.

Lex Vegas will also feature delicious food, dancing and the always-popular LIVE and Silent auction. Everyone, whether they are attending the event or not; can view the list of auction items at www.lexedfoundation.org. The list will be updated often, so people should be sure to take a look at it frequently.

The Lexington High School’s live Jazz Combo will be performing during the cocktail hour, you’ll swear you’re in Vegas. Lexington Education Foundation was founded in 1989 to fund technology and curriculum innovations in all 9 Lexington Public Schools, for items that are not covered by the district’s operating budget. Grants are faculty-initiated, and all grant proposals are reviewed by LEF to ensure that we maximize the educational impact of the contributions we receive.

Since our founding, LEF has awarded grants totaling over $4,000,000. Funds are raised from individuals and businesses in the community. Grants can range in size and scope, but always focus on efforts that contribute to student achievement and the quality of our schools.

Lexington Education Foundation (LEF) is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization. LEF is not affiliated with the Lexington Public Schools.
