Lexington's 300th: Get Ready for the Musical Fashion Review

Tickets are available now for "Breeches, Bloomers, and Bellbottoms - Oh My! A Musical Fashion Revue," an Lexington's 300th event scheduled for Oct. 27.

The following was provided by the Lexington 300th Committee.

On Wednesday evening there was a dress rehearsal for "Breeches, Bloomers, and Bellbottoms - Oh My! A Musical Fashion Revue."

It was delightful and amusing - this event shouldn't be missed! The show will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m., at the Lexington High School auditorium.
In a musical, whimsical way, the evening celebrates 300 years of clothing worn in Lexington. This is not a runway fashion show -- and, yes, men will like this!

Come see LPS teachers, selectmen, town department heads, town employees, high school students, Thelma Goldberg's Legacy dancers, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, re-enactors, and other well-known Lexingtonians as they frolic their way through the history of our town's clothes.

But first you'll need a ticket.

Tickets, which range from $10-$30, will be sold:

  • Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - outside CVS, 1735 Massachusetts Ave
  • Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2 to 6 p.m. - Lexington Farmers' Market - corner of Mass Ave, Woburn, and Fletcher
  • Mondays - Fridays, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Town Clerk's Office, 1625 Mass Ave.

This is a fundraiser and all proceeds will benefit 300th Anniversary events.
But, there's more to the show than just the Revue!  Come at 6:45 p.m. and experience "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Fashion," a silent auction of wearable art.  Have the opportunity to bid on unique pieces of art from cigar box purses to jewelry.  They are stunning.  If you'd like a sneak peak, all the pieces are being shown at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, 130 Waltham Street, through today, October 12th.  Again, proceeds support 300th Anniversary events.  Support the 300th anniversary and get a sensational work of art at the same time.
