With Thanksgiving FEASTival, LFM Hosts Last-Minute Shopping Event

In three years, the Lexington Farmers Market annual FEASTival is fast becoming a local holiday tradition.

Hurricane Sandy might have washed out the Lexington Farmers Market’s last regularly scheduled market day of the year, but that wicked superstorm can’t touch this Tuesday’s Thanksgiving FEASTival.

In just three years, the LFM’s FEASTival, held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at Seasons Four in East Lexington, has already become a bit of an annual holiday tradition. This year’s will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 20.

“It gives shoppers a chance to see some of their favorite farmers and vendors one last time, shop for local, fresh products and stock up on special items before winter,” said Leslie Wilcott Henrie for the LFM. “In addition to turkey, wine, vegetables, baked goods and treats for the Thanksgiving table, many shoppers pick up special items for hostess gifts, or even purchase early for Hannukah and Christmas. It will be a wonderful (and delicious) reunion in support of ‘locally made and locally grown.’”

The host venue, Seasons Four, will be decked out like a Winter Wonderland, but the FEASTival surely isn’t skipping Thanksgiving. Vendors will have offerings ranging from meats and fish to ciders, squashes, wines and even hostess gifts.

This year’s participating vendors, according to the LFM website, include:

Blue Heron Farm
Busa Farms
Buttergirl Baking
Coastal Vineyards
Doves and Figs
Giovanna Gelato
Globe Fish
Goodies
Herb Farmacy
Merton’s Maple Syrup
Nella Pasta

Red Apple Farm and Jordan’s Turkeys
Robinson Farm (cheese)
