Metropolitan Wind Symphony Concerts in the Park

The Metropolitan Wind Symphony is presenting three free outdoor band concerts, Concerts in the Park, at Hastings Park, Mass. Ave and Worthen Rd., Lexington, on Thursday nights in July, on July 12, 19, and 26 at 7:30 pm, weather permitting.  These concerts will feature patriotic music and marches, show music, and traditional concert band selections well matched for such occasions.  Dorothy Bromage is sponsoring the July 12 and July 19th concerts, and this will provide University of Massachusetts-Lowell music student Michael Kaskiewicz the opportunity to guest conduct our national march, John Philip Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever, at the first concert, and MWS Personnel Manager and French Horn player Betsy Rowland the opportunity to conduct that same march at the second concert.

A picnic basket and lawn chairs or a blanket will make for a relaxing and entertaining evening for the entire family; the grounds are open for picnicking from 6:00 pm on. There is plenty of free parking and the concert location is handicapped accessible.  For more information, email mws@mws-boston.org or call (617) 983-1370.
