How Your Kid’s Back-to-School Haircut Can Help Others

The Hair Cuttery salon in Lexington is in the middle of a month-long 'Buy One, Give One' program that donates free haircuts to disadvantage children in the local community.

Two for the price of one is almost always a plus – especially when both things can make you feel good.

With its “Buy One, Give One” program, Hair Cuttery’s Lexington salon is offering two back-to-school haircuts for the price of one, and one of those haircuts will be going to a disadvantaged child in the community.

Here’s how this Share-a-Haircut program works: For the month of August, every time a child aged 18-years or younger receives a haircut at Hair Cuttery, the salon will donate a free haircut to a disadvantaged child in the community.

“Share-a-Haircut is about the ritual of preparing for a new school year,” Dennis Ratner, the company’s founder and CEO, said in a press release. “A new haircut symbolizes a new start and new possibilities. We want kids to associate feeling good about themselves with getting ready for back to school.”
