Lexington Business Owner: No 'Yahoo' in Yelp Deal
Colonial Hardwood owner Dan Tringale said dozens of reviews of his business disappeared.
A Lexington business owner is not shouting "Yahoo" over Yelp's new partnership.
Yelp in February reached a deal with Yahoo to share its business reviews.
Dan Tringale, owner of Colonial Hardwood on Lowell Street, said after the deal, dozens of reviews of his business on Yahoo Local vanished, the Wall Street Journal reported.
"It's a slap in the face," he told the Journal.
When you click on Hardwood Colonial's Yahoo Local listing, it links out to a Yelp page with only one review.
Tringale said he depended on the positive reviews because about 30 percent of his business comes from people searching online.
He was, however, able to copy some of the Yahoo Local reviews before they disappeared and post them on his website.
A Yahoo spokesperson told the Journal Yelp reviews will replace Yahoo Local ones.
