Lexington Company Combines With UK Drugmakers

Shire shareholders will control about 25 percent of the new company, said the Globe.

A drugmaker will combine with Shire, a Lexington-based company, after reaching a $55 billion dollar deal, reported The Boston Globe. 

AbbVie, which is based in North Chicago, will incorporate in the UK offices with Lexington's company, which has 1,500 employees in Lexington. 

Shire shareholders will control about 25 percent of the new company, said the Globe.
