Lexington Resident to Chair Mass Bar Association's General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section

Lexington resident Scott D. Goldberg has been appointed by Massachusetts Bar Association President Robert L. Holloway Jr. as chair of the association’s General Practice, Solo & Small-Firm Section for the 2012-13 year. His appointment began Sept. 1.

The MBA’s General Practice, Solo & Small-Firm Section assists members by studying the needs and concerns of solo, small firm practitioners; providing a forum and clearinghouse for the exchange and dissemination of ideas and information; motivating and assisting the MBA to address the section’s needs and concerns; and encouraging, identifying and promoting programs, benefits and services of interest to solo and small firm practitioners.

Goldberg practiced at small firms before founding The Law Firm of Scott D. Goldberg, PC in 1994. He is now a sole practitioner in Boston who focuses almost exclusively on plaintiff's personal injury law with a concentration in representing injured police officers. He joins MBA leadership following years of membership, including serving as vice chair on the council of the General Practice, Solo & Small-Firm Section during the 2010-2011 association year during which term he was program chair for the section's annual symposium.

Goldberg, a 1987 graduate of Suffolk University Law School, is also an active member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and the American Association of Justice. Goldberg is a photographer, an accomplished skier and has many years of martial arts training as both a student and former Sensei.

MBA’s 17 sections and Young Lawyers Division provide lawyers with up-to-date information on specific areas of law, monitor law-related legislation, sponsor professional education programs and provide information on the law for the general public.
