The Munroe Center for the Arts, 1403 Massachusetts Avenue, welcomed its newest educational business this weekend with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Elite Freestyle Martial Arts, which has been operating in the area for 22 years, opened a dojo in the lower level of the center. The martial arts studio will mostly teach children and help them gain self confidence, discipline and respect through training in martial arts.
The center also offers ballet classes, dance classes and music lessons. It also hosts local artists and offers community programs and presentations.
Check out the video of the ribbon cutting and a conversation with Sensei Scott Cioffi of Elite Freestyle Martial Arts.
Participants in the ribbon cutting ceremony included State Representative Jay Kaufman, Town Manager Carl Valente, Lexington Chamber board chairman Barry Cunha, DDS Chamber board member Pamela Shadley, ASLA, Rich McDonough (of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage), Colleen Smith (of LexGo! Talk Show, on LexMedia) and Mary Jo Bohart (Lexington Chamber of Commerce).
