New Restaurant to Open at Nourish Location

As of next spring there will be a new Italian bistro restaurant in town.

The Lexington Board of Selectmen approved a liquor license transfer for il Casale from the Nourish restaurant during the meeting Monday night. The new restaurant will also be in Nourish's current location at 1727 Massachusetts Avenue.

There is currently an il Casale in Belmont.

"Il Casale offers an elegant spread of fine Italian cuisine for friends and family," the Belmont Patch directory listing states." The menu changes seasonally, offering fresh ingredients and producing robust and hearty dishes. The space is a modern and urban take on traditional and rustic design, with a brick storefront and walls, wooden chairs, arch windows and a long, stark white marble bar counter. This restaurant also offers an extensive wine list."

Also reported on Belmont Patch, il Casale won Boston Magazine's Best of Boston Award in both 2011 and 2012.

Chef Dante de Magistris, who owns the restaurants with his brothers Filippo and Damian, said the restaurant is intended as a comfortable family dining location.

According to the restaurant's web site, il Casale's menu features dishes of century old recipes borrowed from de Magistris's Nonna.
