Market Basket Workers: Corporate Managers Locked Us in Store

Amid a push by workers to have former CEO Arthur T. Demoulas reinstated, the grocery store chain is facing a lawsuit from some overnight workers.

Some Market Basket workers on the overnight shift have sued the chain, alleging they were required to take an unpaid, one hour break while locked in the store.

The lawsuit, reported on Friday by Fox 25 and the Boston Globe, is dated Wednesday, July 23. It is unclear what, if any, connection the suit has to the ongoing walkout by workers demanding that former CEO Arthur T. Demoulas be reinstated.

The plaintiffs, who worked at the Leominster and Bellingham stores, are seeking class action certification, plus treble damages.
