Sekisui Diagnostics Relocating Facilities to 4 Hartwell Place in Lexington

Cassidy Turley FHO announced last week that the manufacturer of medical testing tools relocates its office and lab facilities to Lexington.

The following announcement was provided by Schneider Associates.

Cassidy Turley FHO, a leader in the commercial real estate services field with extensive experience in the greater Boston office market, last week announced an 18,707-square-foot lease on behalf of Sekisui Diagnostics at 4 Hartwell Place, Lexington. Sekisui’s new space, which will house up to 85 employees, will take the place of the facility which is currently housed at 31 New York Avenue, Framingham (Genzyme facility).  This entity was formerly the diagnostics division of Genzyme and was purchased by Sekisui Chemical in 2011.

“We are pleased to relocate Sekisui Diagnostics’ HQ to 4 Hartwell Place,” said Paul O’Connor, Vice President of Business Administration at Sekisui Diagnostics. “We are grateful to Cassidy Turley FHO for helping us review our real estate options and are pleased with our selection decision.  We are very excited to join the established and growing list of life science companies doing business in Lexington.”

4 Hartwell Place is a one-story building with direct access to I-95 and Route 128. The property accommodates a range of uses from lab space to high-end research and development functions. Managing Principal Joe Fallon; Senior Managing Director, Principal Kevin Hanna; Senior Managing Director, Principal Mike Brown; and Associate Connor Barnes of Cassidy Turley FHO represented Sekisui Diagnostics in the transaction. Eric Smith, Senior Vice President at Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, represented the landlord, King Street Properties, one of suburban Boston’s largest and most active owners of life science real estate.

“We are pleased to add Sekisui Diagnostics to our impressive Lexington tenant roster, which includes T2 Biosystems, Quanterix and Abpro,” said Stephen Lynch, Principal at King Street Properties.

“Many tech firms are weighing the benefits of relocating outside of the city to capitalize on competitive rental rates and a better quality of life, without sacrificing proximity to Cambridge and Boston’s unrivaled cluster of businesses, schools and hospitals,” said Hanna. “Sekisui Diagnostics is a leader in the global diagnostics industry, and we hope to partner with the firm on future expansions as it continues to succeed and grow in Massachusetts.”
