Visions for Vacancies in Lexington: 48C Bedford Street

What would you like to see in this empty space in the Stop & Shop plaza?

Welcome to Visions for Vacancies, a Patch feature and a place where you can weigh in with your ideas about what kind of businesses you’d like to see occupying empty storefronts around town.

Each week, we’ll highlight a vacant building, storefront or structure around town. And we’ll leave it you, the Lexington community, to sound off on what you’d like to see there before any plans go before town boards.

This week we’re taking a look at 48C Bedford St., an unfilled space next to Supercuts in the plaza.

The sign on the window advertises a store for lease, and this vacanct storefront is surrounded by a supermarket, a , a Supercuts, a bank, an ATM, a convenience store, a liquor store, and a sandwich/perpared foods spot.

What would you like to behind those big glass walls? Is there a void you'd like to see filled? Or perhaps you have some idea of what would compliment existing businesses.

So, if you had your way—and, for the purpose of this discussion, let’s try not to focus too much on zoning restrictions—what would be your vision for this vacancy? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

economics and best-use aside, the space would look terrific with a florist utilizing all that great window space.

How about Nordstrom Rack "Shoe Division" !? I'd like that very much ...

I'd like to see a "California-style" breakfast and lunch restaurant--some organic, some vegetarian/vegan choices, hearty, healthy (some of the time), delicious food.
