Cartera Day of Service

Recently, locally-based Cartera Commerce staff members spent the day volunteering around Massachusetts. They worked in teams at the Greater Boston Food Bank in Roxbury and at the Massachusetts Audubon center’s Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont. From sorting and labeling food for distribution to trail maintenance and gardening, the staff enjoyed the day giving back to the communities that have helped them thrive in this state. Employees selected the organization they wanted to work with for the day and said it was great to get the chance to work with each of these organizations, meet the people who run the day-to-day operations and help the community.

At the Greater Boston Food Bank the team worked together in an assembly line loading boxes onto conveyor belts and inspecting and sorting products before checking and labeling boxes for distribution. At the end of the day, Cartera employees made 20,182 meals possible and sorted a whopping 26,216 pounds of food!

At the sanctuary, Cartera's staff spent the day working on trail maintenance, removal of overgrowth and invasive plants, debris removal and gardening.
