Five Things: A Field Guide, Toastmasters and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Jan. 3 in Lexington.

1. Lexington Alive: According to the town website, Lexington Alive is the town's new field guide created specifically to help locals explore nature around town. The water-resistant guide costs $6, with proceeds benefitting the Lexington Nature Trust. You can pick up a guide at the town's Community Devleopment Office, located at the Town Office Building.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the ad hoc School Transportation and Safety Study Committee at 9 a.m. at the Central Administraiton Building, the Conservaiton Commission at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Office Building, the Commission on Disability at 5:45 p.m. at the Town Office Building, the Permanent Building Committee at 7 p.m. at the DPW Building and the Historic Districts Commission at 7 p.m. at the Town Office Building.

3. Lexington Toastmasters Weekly Meeting: It's at 12 p.m. today at Cambridge Savings Bank.

5. Sunny Day, Cloudy Night: Should be mostly sunny today and cold, with a high of 24, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a cloudy evening and an overnight low of 19.
