Five Things: Fuel Assistance, Science and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Dec. 28 in Lexington.

1. Fuel Assistance for Eligible Lexington Residents: The Fuel Assistance Program, a program that helps with the cost of heating your home, accepts new applications through April 30, 2013. Call the town of Lexington Senior Center/Human Services Department at 781-861-0194 to schedule an appointment and/or to inquire about the program.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, there are no public meetings posted for today.

3. Exploring Nano: Sand, Plants and Pants: This one's not in Lexington, but it could be interesting. From 1 to 4 p.m. today over at the Discovery Museums in Acton, you can check out hands-on educational programs about nanoscale science, engineering and technology. Learn how nano-particles change the way sand, plants, and even your pants, behave.
