Five Things: LACS Arts and Crafts Fall Fair Opens Today

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know today in Lexington.

1. Annual Arts & Crafts Fall Fair: The Lexington Arts and Crafts Society's annual all-society fundraiser opens today, with all proceeds going to the support of the Society. For this three-day fair, members donate a selection of items for sale including baskets, jewelry, paintings, polymer clay creations, cards, decorative arts, needle arts, weaving, ceramics, fine jewelry and woodworks. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 20 and from 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21.

2. Bogart's Back: At 7 p.m. tonight at the Depot, Lexington Community Education is hosting "The Behavior of Wings: A Staged Reading by Steve Bogart." The former drama teacher at Lexington High School, Bogart will present a staged reading of his new work, "The Behavior of Wings." Costs $5.

3. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, the only public meetings posted for today are the Bowman School Site Council at 7:45 a.m. at the school and the Bridge School Site Council at 8 a.m. at the school.

5. Tut, Tut Looks Like Rain: Rain, and possible thunderstorms, are in the forecast for today, with a high of 66, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts more of the same on a warm October's night, with a low of 57.
