Five Things: Selectmen, a Survey, Fuel Assistance and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Jan. 28 in Lexington.

1. Previewing the BOS Agenda: The Board of Selectmen are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Town Office Building and its agenda includes an update from LexHAB on the Fairview Property, a bike parking and parklet proposal, a discussion of the fiscal 2014 budget and approval/signing of the warrant for annual Town Meeting and a special Town Meeting.

2. Take the Community Vision Survey: Lexington's 2020 Vision Committee has introduced a community survey seeking input to "identify the aspects of our town are of greatest interest and concern."

3. Fuel Assistance for Eligible Lexington Residents: The Fuel Assistance Program, a program that helps with the cost of heating your home, accepts new applications through April 30, 2013. Call the town of Lexington Senior Center/Human Services Department at 781-861-0194 to schedule an appointment and/or to inquire about the program.

5. Let It Snow? Daytime highs could hit 35, but snow is likely as temperatures drop after 4 p.m., according the National Weather Service, which predicts a wintry mix overnight and a low of 29.
