2014 Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Summit

Michele
Jurgens will present at the 2014 Governance, Risk

Management and Compliance Summit
on Thursday, March 6. Jurgens, chair of the New England College of Business and Finance's Master of Science in

Business Ethics and Compliance program, will discuss the mistakes BP made during the infamous April 2010 oil spill and explain how other companies can
avoid similar situations.

During
Jurgens’s presentation, attendees will learn about the factors contributing to
reputational risk for large corporations similar to BP and the circumstances
under which firms are the most at-risk for reputational harm.  They will analyze the importance of external
partnerships and coalitions in managing risk and the role of business ethics and compliance officers in combating such risk.
