An Evening with Debra Samuels - The Accidental Food Writer

  • Join Lexington Community Education for an evening with cookbook author, food and travel writer and cooking teacher, Debra Samuels.  Debra will share  a captivating survey of her journeys -- figurative and literal -- in the culinary world. Debra has covered all the bases, from writing about food for the Boston Globe, to authoring cookbooks on Korean and Japanese cooking, to teaching children, teenagers, and adults to create healthy, internationally inspired meals. And she’s traversed the globe in the process, writing about her travels and working with foreign embassies to promote international relations through sharing national cuisines. Debra will touch on such topics as where ideas come from, the importance of accuracy, testing recipes, travel writing, the path to publishing cookbooks, and how to stay relevant. As Debra says, “Food is an international language, a bridge across cultures. My objective is to educate, entertain and encourage people of all ages to be creative and to care about its preparation and presentation.”

  • The cost of this evening's event is $10.00.  Pre-registration strongly recommended, using a VISA or MasterCard, by contacting Lexington Community Education at 781 862 8043.
