"Belmont Seen" - Opening Reception for Inaugural Show of Belmont Art Association

The Belmont Gallery of Art is pleased to present “Belmont Seen,” the inaugural show of the Belmont Art Association (BAA), a group founded in 2013 to promote the work of visual artists from Belmont and neighboring communities. The “Belmont Seen” show features the work of 27 members of the BAA. This eclectic exhibit showcases art made in a variety of media, including photography, oil and acrylic paintings, sculpture, textiles and jewelry design. Several special Gallery Talks with featured artists are scheduled for several Sundays in March during the run of the show. Events are free and open to the public.

Participating artists include: Christine Arthur, Kimberley Becker, Nicole Bernstein, Christine Chang, Warren Croce, Arlette Doherty, Norma Dumont, Naomi Ellenberg-Dukas, Irene Fairley, Patrick Ford, Svetlana Grinshpan, Erika Hartwieg, Richard Hill,Kay Hudgins, Susan Johnson, Susan Jones, Anne Katzeff, Susan Kottler, Arch MacInnes, Helen Morse, Karla O'Brien, Dari Paquette, Linda-Ruth Salter, Ian Todreas, Jane Wentzell, Alan Witschonke.

Artists’ Reception: Sunday, February 9, 1-4 p.m. Come and meet the artists in our group.

Duration of Exhibit: February 7 – March 16, 2014; Hours are Thurs. and Fri., 10-4 and Sunday 1-4.

Since opening its doors in July 2005, the Belmont Gallery of Art, has presented over fifty shows featuring the work of dozens of local and regional artists. The recipient of a Gold Star Award from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Belmont Gallery has been recognized for its support and promotion of the arts and culture in Belmont and surrounding communities.
