Lexington Community Education presents: The Sound & Spirit of India's Classical Music

This evening will feature a recital and lecture by New England Conservatory's Peter Row (Sitar and Rudra Vina) and Special Guest Akshay Navaladi (tabla).

With source codes found in the oldest Hindu scriptures, the sound and sensibility of Indian classical music is both ancient and otherworldly. LCE is honored to welcome master musician, educator and author Peter Row to explain and demonstrate – with sitar and rudra vina–the majesty of India’s music. He is a member of the faculty of the New England Conservatory, where he served as Dean (1983-1990) and Provost (1990-1996 and 2000-2004)

Akshay Navaladi was born into a family of classical music lovers and started music lessons at the age of six.  He has been giving performances with both Hindustani and Carnatic music artiststs for the last several years in India and abroad.
