Social Host Law Community ForumThursday, November 1, 7:00 PM; Clarke Middle School AuditoriumPresentation with Middlesex District Attorney’s Office about Teenage Substance Abuse and the Social Host LawThe 2011 Youth Risk Behavior Survey - completed by 85% of LHS students – shows staggering statistics about LHS students. The Survey reports that 49% of LHS students have at least one drink of alcohol a month (a figure higher than the national average), 29% of those students report binge drink (5 or more drinks in a row) at least once a month, and 28% of LHS students report using marijuana.The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Lexington Police Department, the Law Office of Campbell & Campbell, Lexington Youth Services Council, Student Health Advisory Council, and LPS Prevention Specialist, Julie Fenn from the PE & Wellness department, will further discuss the results of the Survey, the Social Host Law and its implications for parents, as well as practical advice for parents to help prevent teen alcohol and drug use.
