Community Corner

The 4th Annual Luminary Night

On Sunday December 2th from 5pm – 7 pm the town of Lexington will celebrate its spirit of community with its 4th annual Luminary Night. This extraordinary event is an opportunity to come together with our families and neighbors for block parties, cookie swaps, hot cocoa or any way you choose to celebrate, all while supporting worthwhile causes in our community.  This year, the luminary project will be handled in partnership between the PTAs, preschool programs in Lexington, and ArtSpan, the visual arts education program of the Munroe Center for the Arts.  ArtSpan enriches Lexington with its offerings in ceramics, drawing, painting, and more throughout the year after school, and during vacation periods and summertime.

Please help us set our historic landmarks and neighborhoods aglow by purchasing your luminary kits.~The cost of each luminary~kit is $20 and includes 15 votive tea lights, 15 white bags and an instruction and safety sheet.~Your~PTA will receive 40% of the proceeds of all kits sold through your school.~Order forms will be sent home in your elementary school children's backpacks the week of 10/29.    Or, for more information, please visit www.munroecenter.org or emailbarbara@munroecenter.org.   We hope you will join us for this magical event!
