First Friday Forum League of Women Voters - Housing Production Plan

The November 1 First Friday will present a draft of the Housing Production Plan for Lexington which has been prepared by the Lexington Planning Department and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, with input from Lexington's Housing Partnership and other Town stakeholders.

Although our Town's Subsidized Housing Inventory currently meets the state requirement of ten percent of our housing stock, maintaining that percentage, and providing needed housing for Lexington residents, requires the continued production of affordable housing as market priced housing continues to be added to our community.

The First Friday panel, moderated by League member Wendy Manz, will include Aaron Henry, Assistant Town Planner to introduce the draft plan, as well as representatives from the Planning Board, the Housing Partnership, the Housing Authority and the MAPC to comment on the draft.  We hope this will start a lively discussion among Lexington residents about the housing needs in our community and how they can best be met, while maintaining all the qualities of Lexington that we value and want to preserve.
