Genevieve Wharton of Lexington in Boston Children's Theatre's PIPPIN July 18 - 21

The winner of four
2013 Tony® Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical, PIPPIN is truly magical and
extraordinary!  Boston Children’s Theatre
(BCT) is proud to present this thrilling musical to showcase the talents of 13-year
old Genevieve Wharton of Lexington.  PIPPIN will be performed July 18 - 21 at
The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, MA.



Genevieve has been
cast as ‘Player’ in the ensemble and she also acts as Dance Captain for PIPPIN
No stranger to the stage, Genevieve was seen as ‘Ariel’ in The Little Mermaid and as ‘Thing 2’ in Seussical at Clarke Middle School.  She has also appeared in S’cool and Annie Jr with
Lexplorations. 



 With a score by
Stephen Schwartz, composer of Godspell
and Wicked, and book by Roger O.
Hirson, PIPPIN follows a young man
on his journey to find meaning in his life. Will he choose a happy, simple
existence or risk everything for a moment of glory?  Featuring such songs as “Corner of the Sky,”
“Magic to Do,” “Glory,” and “Morning Glow,” PIPPIN is directed by Lisa Yuen, director of BCT’s 2012 Studio 3 production
of Legally Blonde, with choreography
by Blair Beasley and Brianna Fallon, and music direction by Jaime Castellanos.

PIPPIN will be performed with 2 casts totaling 58 students between the ages of 9
and 14 at The Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm Street, Byfield, MA.  Genevieve will be performing Thursday, July
18 at 7:30 pm, Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, July 21 at 2:00
pm.  Tickets are $20 and $15 for adults
and $15 and $10 for students.  For
