Lexington Community Education presents: El Arte Flamenco: Lecture & Performance with Roberto Rios and his Ensemble

Join Lexington Community Education for an extraordinary musical exploration of the Gypsies of Spain, in an intimate and intense performance and discussion by musician and educator Roberto Rios and his ensemble El Arte Flamenco. The evening will focus on the development of Spanish folklore and flamenco from its earliest beginnings to its current place in the realm of World Music, and will be highlighted by examples of the various musical forms by live dancers and musicians.  

Roberto Ríos has been a guitarist for over fifty years.  Besides being an accomplished flamenco guitarist, Mr. Ríos and his group are also educators with years of experience presenting educational programs for people  who appreciate and/or who want to expand their knowledge of the Spanish culture. He has appeared with José Greco, Omayra Amaya, the Rogelio Rodriguez Spanish Dancers, Gitanerías, the Ramón de los Reyes Spanish Dance Theatre, and the Ballet Español de Clara Ramona, as well as performing with the Houston Pops Orchestra and the Central Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra.
