The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will feature Lexington residents Chloë Thornburn and Karina Wen. Chloë will play Logainne Schwartzandgrunenierre on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, and Karina will play Marcy Park on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. The show includes a score by Tony Award winner William Finn (Falsettos, A New Brain, Little Miss Sunshine) and a Tony Award-winning book by Rachel Sheinkin.

This hilarious musical chronicles six young outsiders in the throes of puberty who learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. Overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, these quirky overachievers learn that a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time!

The cast of 17 is comprised of students in grades 8 through 12, and it is directed by Ryan MacPherson with music direction by Ben Oehlkers and choreography by Jackie Theoharis. Concord resident and Emmy Award winner Kelly Hanley Goode is the production stage manager, and the show is produced by Stephanie C. Mavrides and James Forbes Sheehan.

Some subject matter may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13.

This season, ACTS will also present Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. (February 7 and 8) and Once On This Island (May 30-June 1).

Tickets ($15-$20) may be purchased by visiting www.ACTS1.org or by calling 781-899-4467. Group discounts are available; interested parties should email idpactsmail@aol.com.
