Networking For Nonprofits – How to Expand your Visibility and Fundraising Capacity

Nonprofit Net is pleased to announce that its May 17 seminar will focus on how nonprofit board and staff members can improve their networking skills to benefit their organizations. The seminar will be led by Mary Jo Bohart and Peter Noonan and will include a presentation, time for questions and answers, and a networking session that will allow participants to get to know other people in the nonprofit sector. Coffee and refreshments will be served.

 

Mary Jo Bohart, Executive Director of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, is an urban planner by training and came to the chamber after working as the Economic Development Officer for the town of Lexington during 2002-2003.  She previously worked for the city of Somerville. She has expertise in urban renewal, downtown revitalization, grant writing, small business loan programs, façade renovation programs, and brownfields redevelopment projects. She has a B.S. in City & Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA.

Peter Noonan is Executive Director of Supportive Living, Inc., in Lexington, which provides residential and support services for survivors of brain injury. With a significant sales and marketing background in private industry sales and marketing positions, Peter came to the Executive Director position after serving on the organization’s capital campaign committee and then board of directors. His education includes bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business from St. Michaels College and he has taught courses in marketing and finance.
