LexGO! Talk Show: Patriots' Day Edition

If you're enjoying the Patriots' Day action today in Lexington, local talk show host Colleen Smith has some of the stories behind the story covered on LexMedia.

LexGO! is venturing out from the studio for Patriots Day and going on location to give you an inside look at the “behind the scenes” that the Minutemen Militia and the British Redcoats do to prepare for the annual Reenactment that takes place every Patriots' Day. Leading up to that day there is months and weeks of preparation that goes into the planning and execution of this event to make it the authentic and treasured experience that it is for Lexingtonians and people all over the world that attend this special day.

 The show will kick off at the historic where I will interview Paul O’Shaughnessy, the commanding officer of His Majesty’s Tenth Regiment of Foot.

Next we will attend the Lexington Minute Men drill in preparation for Patriot's Day at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall, we will also show you a tactical drill at Tower Park, where new members are being trained in the field regarding firing and safety procedures.  Bill Mix, the Captain Commanding of the Lexington Minute Men Company will join us to give us an inside perspective of this training.

Last but certainly not least, we are heading down Mass Ave to one of the best known businesses in town -  , where we will meet Dick Michelson, long time proprietor. Dick is a fixture at the store and at every Patriots Day Parade where he has been influential in the planning of the event going back to his younger years as a Boy Scout to the memorable Bicentennial Celebration.
