Lexington's 300th: Race Through Time on Sept. 22

The following information was provided by the Lexington 300th Committee.

 

A competitive race based on the TV show "The Amazing Race on CBS" will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22 as part of the Opening Day Ceremony and Country Fair. Teachers, parents, students, adults of all ages, all town employees, and families, are welcome.

Hurry and sign up, because only 20 teams of 2-5 racers per team will be able to take part in this race.  Don't feel like you're missing the fun! Think of it as the LEF Trivia Bee on foot!

This is not just a foot race, this is a mind boggling journey! You will have three hours to find the nine "challenge stations" around town and complete the task presented to you by the challenge station masters. Tasks will test your IQ, EQ, PQ, CQ, and all the Qs in between!

The race is sponsored by Collective Brands Performance + Lifestyle Group (Sperry Top-Sider, Saucony, Keds, and Striderite). Lots of prizes to go around, including $1500, $1000, and $500 cash prizes in the form of Gift Certificates for the top three teams to complete the race first.  There will also be "Best Team," "Craziest Hats" and "Mystery" categories with prizes including gift certificates for Saucony, Keds, Sperry Top-Sider, Striderite and .
