A few ideas to fold into your holiday weekend.

We won't be going with the whole "It's Thursday and you've got no idea what' you'll do this weekend" thing today. This Saturday and Sunday, after all, are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So, instead here a things you may be interested in incorporating into this holiday weekend.

1.
Where/When: , at the corner of Mass Ave and Worthen Road; 4 to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24
Why Go: According to the town website, Christmas Eve Caroling is "a town tradition that is enjoyed by several hundred residents and neighbors each year who gather to sing an assortment of traditional and favorite carols." For the final song, children will be invited up onto the bandstand with the musicians to ring bells to "Jingle Bells." Song sheets, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided to all. The Lexington Rotary Club and the Lexington Lions Club have joined in to help organize and co-sponsor this community event.

3.
Where/When: , 130 Waltham St.; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24
Why Go: Last-minute shopping and your last chance to check out the LACS market, which promises one-of-a-kind gifts including baskets, fine jewelry, paintings, cards and prints, polymer clay creations, decorative arts, needle arts, weaving, ceramics, ornaments, photography, woodworks and gift certificates.

4. Pats host the Miami and Celts open up against the Knicks
Where/When: TVs wherever you are; Pats-'Dolphins are at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24 on CBS; Celtics at Knicks are at 12 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 25 on TNT
Why Go: In this case, this is probably more of a "Why Watch?" for most. And the answer to that is because, chances are, there's going to be something running on TV in the backround somewhere while you're preparing for/hosting/attending a gathering of friends and family on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Also, the Patriots look to keep rolling and tighten their grasp on the AFC's top spot as they head into the post season and the Celtics and rival Knicks' tip-off starts a Christmas Day quadrouble-header, not to mention the the NBA's lockout-shortened season.
Pricing: Free, discounting the electrical and cable bills.
