Lexpress route modifications ahead. Tell Lexpress which way to go!

Lexpress staff are currently conducting an outreach campaign concerning changes to Lexpress routes 1, 2, 3, and 4 that will take place on July 1, 2014. The modified routes can be viewed by going to www.lexpress.us or by attending one of the scheduled public meetings.

These proposed adjustments will:

  • Improve on time performance by ensuring that all routes are around 25 minutes or less.
  • Accommodate the future opening of the Lexington Community Center located at 39 Marrett Road - Routes 1 and 2 will drop riders off approximately every half hour.
  • Reduce the amount of time residents are riding the bus to arrive at popular destinations. For example, the new Route 3 will provide more direct service to Lahey Clinic, while Greeley Village will only be a minute away from Town Center on the new Route 4.

"Improving on-time performance and reliability is critical to attracting and retaining riders," said Jeanette Rebecchi, Transportation Manager. “We worked the Transportation Advisory Committee to build a cost-neutral plan that will hopefully impact relatively few existing passengers while greatly increasing the efficiency of the overall Lexpress bus system.”
