There should be ample worms for the early bird holiday shoppers at this afternoon at the .
From baby bibs to macarons to artisan jewelry, an assortment of seasonal gifts and stocking stuffers will be available as dozens of talented local artisans have committed to hawk their wares and donate 10 percent of the proceeds to the local Five and Under Network’s preschool and community fund.
“It should be a great place for people to get holiday shopping done for teachers, for family and even for yourself,” said Lisa O'Brien, co-presient of LexFUN!. “The whole idea is we’re getting closer to the holidays and it’s kind of easy to go and shop at some of these brand stores, and finding unique gifts can kind of take a bit of time to find, so we’re giving some visibility to small artisans that don’t necessarily have a storefront.”
In addition to the vendors, the LexFUN! market place will cater to parents by offering a “Kid's Entertainment and Craft Zone,” sponsored by Gymboree Play & Music and Yamaha Music School of Boston, as well as pizza, beverages and other snacks.
Another component of the evening is the opportunity to support LexFUN’s Community Service committee in its partnership with COMPASS for Kids in their second annual Holiday Gift Card Drive to support family in need with their holiday shopping. To help, folks can look for the drop box and donate cash or gift cards to stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Payless, Gap, Old Navy and Toys R Us.
