Your mother might like our selections by Italian and Italian American composers from the 1600’s to the present. We'll be singing three Monteverdi madrigals, Gabrieli's Jubilate Deo, the Verdi Ave Maria and settings by Persichetti of poems by e.e. cummings, as well as Chinese poems by Kaing Kang-Hu by Peter Menin. Rossini and Donizetti choruses and whimsical songs by Norman Dello Joio round out the program. First Parish Church in Lexington, 7 Harrington Road, fully accessible with ample free parking at the rear of the church. A festive reception follows the concert. Tickets $18 students/seniors, $23 general admission. See www.themastersingers.org for more information and directions.
