Perfect for Mother's Day: An Italian / American Evening

The Master Singers of Lexington are putting the final touches on their May 10 concert, which includes choral music by Italian and Italian American composers from the 1600's to the present. Some of the selections:

Monteverdi madrigals, Gabrieli’s Jubilate Deo, and Verdi’s Ave Maria and also  modern settings by Persichetti of four poems by e.e. cummings and settings by Peter Menin of four Chinese poems by Kaing Kang-Hu. Rossini and Donizetti opera choruses and some whimsical songs by Norman Dello Joio round out the program.

First Parish Church is on the Battle Green in Lexington center and is fully accessible with ample free parking. Tickets are available in advance or at the door and discounts are available to subscribers, to Greater Boston Choral Consortium members, and from members of the chorus.
