Barrett Announces Volunteer Milestone

People throughout the district are getting involved in Barrett's campaign.

When Lincoln resident Terri Morgan walked up to Mike Barrett several weeks ago and offered her help, she didn’t realize she was enabling him to reach an organizational milestone: In offering to put a Barrett sign in her front yard on Concord Road in Lincoln, Terri became the 400th person this year to volunteer for his campaign for State Senate.

“What draws me to Mike is his working knowledge of how the state operates,” Morgan says.  “He’s great on health care, human services and care for the disabled, all of which matter to me.”

In keeping a running total of campaign volunteers, Rivka Barrett, Visibility Coordinator for her Dad, says, “To get to 400 this early is amazing.  I count only those who offer their time, their lawns, their bumpers (for bumper stickers) or their reputations! (as public endorsers).  Donations are great but I don’t include them in my volunteer count.”

Barrett's environmental credentials are persuading young people to help out.  Kate Donahue of Lexington, starting college soon at Harvard, says, "When I vote for the first time in state elections this September 6th, it'll be for Mike.  If you share my hope for leadership on climate change, join me."
