Obituary: Devoted Family Man and Loving Husband Rudy Cuccinello

The following is an obituary from Douglas Funeral Home

CUCCINELLO, Rudy Of Lexington,  passed away Saturday, November 9th after a long illness.

Surviving him, and by his side for sixty-one years was wife Ann (Blake) Cuccinello. Anns sister, Mary Sweeney has also been a wonderful, constant and comforting companion throughout his illness. He also leaves an adoring and grateful son, William Blake Cuccinello, a resident of Carlisle, MA., with his wife of thirty-one years, Dian Francesca (Migetz) Cuccinello. Also his loving grandchildren, Sven Nicholas Cuccinello of Maine, Gina Victoria (Cuccinello) Digiambattista of Waltham, and Marissa Rossetti of Worcester. He is also survived by one great granddaughter, Giselle Destiny Digiambattista, daughter of Gina and Adolfo.

Rudy was a Boston University alumni, SPC, class of 1952. He served proudly as a corporal and radio operator in the Marines.He was also a flight instructor at Hanscom Air Field, a member of the Aviation Safety Group of Massachusetts, Editor and contributor to The Beacon - A Massport Newsletter. He was inducted into and a proud member of the QBs (Quiet Birds) whose former members included the likes of Charles Lindberg, Eddie Rickenbacker, Jimmy Doolittle, Wiley Post and Roscoe Turner.

Rudy was a well-known Disc Jockey for WCOP, WEEI and WEZE back in the 1950s. For over thirty years Rudy worked at Allied Advertising as an Senior Account Executive, before taking over as president of the agency. Not bad for a guy who began his working career as an elevator operator.

Calling hours were held Wednesday Nov. 13 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. A memorial mass was celebrated Thursday Nov. 14 at St. Brigid Church.
