Need an amazing nanny??

My name is Heather. I am 30 years young. I am very care-free, but careful at the same time. I am outgoing, funny, silly and nurturing. I am a great friend, so I've been told and a lot of fun to be around. I was born and raised in New Jersey.
I moved to New England in 1999. I graduated from high school in 2003 and went to college and majored in Early Childhood Education.
My goal, even as a young child, was to work with kids one day.
I often get asked about my newborn experience. I have years of newborn experience along with raving references and thriving (now pre-k, school age and some that are actually in their teens now) kids. I have experience with handling and thawing breast milk, handling and measuring formula. I have experience with cloth diapers and with disposables as well. I love doing tummy time and bicycle legs to ensure gross motor skills are being developed.
For four years, I served as a nanny for a family where the mother worked from home five days a week, Monday through Friday, for a 4.5 year old boy in Winchester. We would go for walks daily and spend a lot of time at parks and playing outside. We loved visiting Boston Common, Frog Pond, the harbor and going to visit the seals at the aquarium. We always have bubbles on hand. We read tons of books and I would always find something new every day that could make him laugh.  We love playing UNO, lots of soccer, visiting the science museum every chance we get, going to the zoo (We loved the bird show!) and playing restaurant. We also loved doing arts and crafts- especially using lots of glitter! We kept busy all day long and always had tons of fun. I was with with this family for nearly four years. In December of 2012, they welcomed another boy who then joined us on our daily adventures. I read tons of colorful books to the newborn and did tons of tummy time and always kept him engaged when he wasn't sleeping or eating.
Currently, since September of 2012, once a month, for a 7 year old girl in Lexington, I spend 2-4 days straight with her while her father travels to California. We stay in touch via texts, emails, phone calls and I send tons of daily photos so he can feel like he was part of our day until he returns home. This job never interferes with any full time position I hold. I simply bring her to school in the morning & attend my full my time job and after that I pick her up from her after school program and then we do dinner, books, a board game and bed. They also have a dog that I take for walks and feed while I'm there.
From December 2011 to June 2012, I morning nannied for another family from 6:15am-8am before my full time job. I would arrive at 6:15, I would make sure the two children, ages 2.5 and 4, have a healthy breakfast. After breakfast, weather permitting and pending the rising of the sun, we would play in the backyard or head to a local park before I drive them to their daycare for 8am.
I served as a nanny for a wonderful family in Arlingon for five years with two boys ages 3 and 6. We read books daily, always made sure we had playdough on hand, did arts and crafts, spent a lot of time outside taking walks, collecting dirt in buckets and searching for dinosaur eggs, played soccer and definitely spent a lot of time dancing.
Before that family, I was served as a nanny for a mother who worked from home and I spent a lot of time with their three month old daughter. We read books daily, got in tons of tummy time, and always did lots of leg exercises to ensure gross motor skills were being developed. I was with this family for a 3 month contract part time while the mother worked from home on her maternity leave.
So needless to say, I have tons of full time nannying experience and I genuinely love what I do. I have tons of satisfied families that can tell you the same.
When I was 16, I was hired at the Boys & Girls Club in Milford, NH and I worked there as a youth counselor all through out high school and into college. I was there for 5 and a half years. My role there was a youth counselor and at one point I was youth counselor/gym director. I am a very active person. I love spending time outdoors, hiking and snowboarding. Snowboarding is definately my favorite winter sport.
While working at the Boys & Girls Club, I planned activities and supervised many children at a time. The summer of 2004, I was a group leader for the youngest age group which was ages 5-6. That was a lot of fun. My experience ranges from infants to age 17. I believe children learn through playing so I am all about teaching them fun new things.
I started babysitting when I was 12 years old. I babysat my neighbors child who was 1 at the time. When I was 14, she had another baby, so then I started babysitting both of the children. I also would babysit my neighbors twin girls who are now 18 years old and they remember the great times we had together which is rewarding in itself.
So, my experience with children started very young and I always knew I wanted to work with kids.
I have 3 siblings. I have one brother who is 36 and is married with two beautiful boys in New Jersey and I love going down there to spoil them as often as I can. I also have two younger sisters. They are 20 and 14. They are a lot of fun to spend time with and we like to ride our four wheeler together most of the time and spend tons of time on my moms lake in the summer.
I have experience with multiples, behavioral issues and special needs.
I drive a safe, reliable, loaded 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL with USAA full coverage car insurance so I do have my own form of transportation.
I have a great resume and raving references that I encourage you to call.
In my spare time, I do journalistic style photography and I specialize in children's photography and outdoor scenery.
I am open for any cooking (I'm not a chef on the Food Network but I can cook), light cleaning (emptying/loading the dishwasher, children's laundry, cleaning up after myself and the children) and any other errands that need to be done through out the day as well such as picking up dry cleaning, dropping off books at the library, grabbing groceries.
I am drug free. I do not drink and I do not smoke. I am open for any background checks, drug tests. I have a background newly performed and cleared on both care.com and sittercity.com.
I am looking for a full time live out position and seeking a long term commitment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read a little bit about me, even though it kind of turned into a short novel.
Before I sign off, I've gotten the question before- "What are you looking for in the next family that I will provide my services for?" My answer to that is simply, I'm looking for a fun, down to earth family that can make each day amazing and just genuinely have a great time with. I'm looking for a family that values what I can bring to the table as an exceptional nanny and friend.
Have a great day!
I look forward to meeting you and your family.
All my best,Heather
