Most Massachusetts residents awoke to a little dusting of snow this morning, the first time many have seen the white stuff since that .

Some Lexington residents said they got up to an inch or so of snow accumulation, but by mid-morning the precipitation had mostly turned to sleet and rain, which very quickly began turning snow to slush.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and patchy fog are in the forecast for the rest of the day as temperatures climb as high as 46 and wind gusts get up to 29 miles per hour. The night holds a chance for showers late and temps down in the mid-30s, the service says.

While the snow on the ground could well be gone within a few hours, it looks like conditions could stay slick into tomorrow morning. In anticipation of the precipitation, the Massachusetts State Police yesterday afternoon reminded motorists to drive slowly and take additional precautions, and .
