Red Sox Star Helps Boston Boy Scouts Spend Unforgettable Day at Fenway

Boston area Boy Scouts recently attended a Boston Red Sox game as guests of Sox star Shane Victorino.  The scouts from the Boston Minuteman Council’s “ScoutReach” inner-city initiative were selected to participate in this year’s Flyin’ Hawaiian All-Stars Charity Ticket Program, one of the events organized by The Shane Victorino Foundation.

Many of the Scouts that attended the Red Sox game were part of the Boy Scouts Boston Minuteman Council’s ScoutReach initiative. The Boston Minuteman Council launched the ScoutReach program in Boston as a way to revive Scouting in urban neighborhoods. The successful inner-city initiative introduces Scouting to a new generation of youth and families in areas of Boston where Scouting can do the most good.

The Shane Victorino Foundation promotes opportunities for underserved youth around the country, including educational, recreational and wellness programs in Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Boston.  Shane Victorino is a native of Hawaii.  He and his wife Melissa established the foundation in 2010.
