Lexington Man Arrested After Alleged Drug Deal in Arlington

Arlington police arrested two men late Tuesday afternoon after an alleged drug deal in a motor vehicle on Appleton Street in Arlington.

Police had 20-year-old Benjamin P. Rothman, of Tanager Street, Arlington, under surveillance and followed him as he got into a motor vehicle with another man in Arlington Heights and drove to the Appleton Street area.

Police moved in after the alleged drug transaction was complete and arrested Rothman and the other man, 22-year-old Peter A. Cook, of Winchester Drive, Lexington.

Both men were charged with possession to distribute a Class D drug and conspiracy to violate a drug law.

Police allegedly seized marijuana, pot brownies and $275 in cash from Rothman and Cook.
