Arlington Man Charged With Thefts From Waltham Rink; Lexington Charges Likely to Follow

Items were stolen from the Chase Skating Facility on Saturday, Feb. 12 during a hockey game.

Lexington Police are investigating whether an Arlington man charged in Waltham with stealing items from an ice rink there is also responsible for stealing cash and an iPod from the on Feb. 12.

"We certainly believe there is a connection," said Lexington Police Capt. Manny Ferro.

Keith Bishop, 19, of 69 Richfield Road., Arlington, has been charged with breaking and entering, larceny over $250 and larceny under $250, after police say he stole cash and electronics from the  in Waltham.

Those thefts occurred on Sunday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Feb. 13, according to Waltham Det. Sgt. Timothy King.

Bishop is also a suspect in thefts from other rinks in Burlington, Lexington, Watertown, Cambridge, Woburn, Belmont, Malden and Saugus, according to a Waltham Police Department press release.

In Lexington on Saturday, Feb. 12, cash and an iPod were reported stolen from the visiting team locker room during a hockey game that night. The suspect was believed to have been a man about 6 feet tall, in his 20s, wearing a red windbreaker, jeans and a white hat.

Wednesday afternoon, Ferro said police believe Bishop is connected to the theft, and police are actively working on the case.

"He hasn't been formally charged in ours as of yet," Ferro said. "We do foresee that happening."
