Multiple Reports of Fraud and Identity Theft

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, December 13-

At 8:07 a.m. there was a report of a small outside brush fire on Meriam Avenue

At 9:57 a.m. there was a report of credit card fraud by a Lexington Ridge Road resident. Resident reports that between Dec. 6 and 10 approximately $18,000 in unauthorized charges were made against credit card account. Charges made in California. Visa contacted and account closed.

At 11:37 a.m. there was a report of fraud by a Rogers Road caller. A City Card credit card opened in caller's name. She is not being held for charges and account closed.  

At 2:27 p.m. there was a report of identity fraud by a Lexington bank that called to report two Hispanic females attempted to cash a bad check.

At 5:23 p.m. there was a report of fraud by a Patterson Road resident. Resident came to station to report that he received notification from investment company that his bank routing and accounting numbers had been changed. The resident had not authorized changes. No money was lost from account so the bank handled it.
