Police Have 'Person of Interest' in Torture of 'Puppy Doe'

A Connecticut man is being brought in for questioning, the Boston Herald reports.

The investigation on who tortured the Pit Bull mix known as "Puppy Doe" has taken a significant turn.

On Monday, Quincy Police said they had identified a Connecticut man as a "person of interest" in the case, according to the Boston Herald.

The man was being extradited to Massachusetts to answer questions. The animal abuse case sparked revulsion nationwide. "Puppy Doe" was found in Quincy on Aug. 31. She suffered from a horrific array of injuries, including burns and a stab wounds to the eye. Someone had slit her tongue as if it were that of a serpent. Veterinarians euthanized the dog in Weymouth because of the severity of her multiple injuries and the damage done to her by starvation.
