Police Log: A Blown Transformer, a Cable Line with a Bullet Hole

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Dec. 7

2:06 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident with no injuries was reported on Marrett Road.

4:11 p.m. – A Homestead Street resident reported a possible fraud outside of Lexington.

5:46 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Mass Ave.

6:21 p.m. – As a result of an interaction with police on Waltham Street, Aniruddh H. Patel, 26, of 35 Georgetown Drive, Framingham, was arrested on a warrant for OUI out of Westford.

7:42 p.m. – A fireworks complaint came in from Hathaway Road.

Saturday, Dec. 8

7:25 a.m. – A detail officer on Maple Street reported possible vandalism in which cable company’s line appeared to have been cut or shot by a bullet. Police are investigating.

10:53 a.m. – A Drummer Boy Way resident reported a possible credit card fraud outside of Lexington.

2:05 p.m. – Police were notified of a reported erratic driver in the area of Mass Ave and Waltham Street.

2:09 p.m. – A caller reported a dead deer in the area of Marrett Road and Route 128/95.

3:13 p.m. – A laptop was reportedly stolen from an unlocked office on Mass Ave sometime during the day. The incident is under investigation, police said.

4 p.m. – A call came in reporting a transformer blew on Bedford Street near the bikeway, downing a power line and knocking out power to the surrounding area.  The roadway was shut down for more than an hour while crews worked to make the road safe, police said Monday.  

Sunday, Dec. 9

11:08 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a car parked in a fire lane on Worthen Road.

12:56 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious teenager standing in the street in the area of Reed Street and Vaille Avenue. He was just waiting for a friend, police said.

 3:21 p.m. – Police responded to a reported mother-son argument on Woburn Street.

6:08 p.m. – A two-vehicle collision was reported in the area of Bedford Street and Harrington Road.
